Mandatory Room Rate Levy: Barbados
We have received a notification from the Barbados Tourism Board regarding a new mandatory room levy that will apply to Barbados Hotels and Apartments from
1st July 2018.
The Barbados Government has advised that effective 1st July 2018, a mandatory ‘Room Rate Levy’ will be applied nightly to all registered hotel bills. The total room levy will vary depending on the official local accommodation ratings and will be required to be paid in resort by the customers on checkout from their accommodation.
The mandatory in resort ‘Room Rate Levy’ will be charged as follows:
• 5* LUXURY HOTELS – US $10.00 per room per night
• 4* HOTELS (A CLASS) – US $5.50 per room per night
• 3* HOTELS AND APARTMENTS (B CLASS) – US $2.50 per room per night
