If you are looking for 'steep and deep' skiing then Fernie is really the resort for you. It does cater for every grade of skier and boarder, but it comes into its own if you are looking for powder and back country skiing and touring. Sometimes overshadowed by Banff and Lake Louise at the other end of the spectacular Icefields Parkway drive, Jasper's ski area, including Marmot Basin, is popular with families driving down the highway from Edmonton.
